Elevation: Elevating the injured or sore area can sometimes help and is thus recommended. You can do this by using a pillow or bed wedge under your neck and shoulder area.
Make sure that you keep the affected area at or above the heart level which will help in decreasing the swelling fast. You can also use an ice pack while you are laying in this condition for faster relief.
